Casey’s passion for dogs and love of animals has existed from an early age. On her 13th birthday, her mom wrote her a poem that explained her family would be adopting their first dog and that now she had the important but exciting responsibility to care for, love, and train the newest member of their family. Since then, animals have been in her life as fierce and loyal companions.
Casey first met Melissa and became a member of the Peace and Paws family when she was looking to adopt her own rescue dog as an adult. Having already rescued two cats while living in Florida during graduate school, it was in July of 2013, Casey and her husband were ready to adopt their first rescue dog. Two years later they added another Peace and Paws Rescue pup to their family after being foster failures.
Becoming a volunteer at the Ruff House Retreat was something Casey decided to do to give back to the organization that had given her so much. During her volunteer hours, she recognized her increasing skill and desire to be around dogs and to learn and do as much as she could for them.
In October 2016 Casey made the leap to leave a full-time job in marketing and communications to create Peace and Paws Pet Sitting and Services, LLC with Melissa. Making this life changing transition has allowed her to create a life she is passionate about and allows her to work hard, make a difference, and do what she loves.
Casey lives in Ashland, NH with her husband Andre, 2 rescue cats, Elbie and Caly, and 2 rescue dogs Stanley and Faelan. When she is not at the Ruff House or with PPPS clients, she spends her time teaching yoga in Concord, hiking in the lakes region, and reading as much as she possibly can.
